On escaping a career in digital mapping with the restrictions of 100% accuracy my objective is now to experiment and to capture those feelings and undertones that can not be precisely quantified.
My subject matter always has strong structural elements. I enjoy the hard lines deep shadows and resulting patterns. Colour and texture are my greatest allies. Oil pastels often provide the vibrant hues and I love the physical act of drawing especially with pastels and charcoal . There is always a dark side that seems to creep into my work, it's not intentional it just arrives uninvited.
